When you think of a technical university festival, “world-class concert production” isn’t usually the first phrase that comes to mind. But BITS Pilani Goa’s Quark ’26, held from February 20th to 22nd, proved that engineers know exactly how to throw a party. Surrounded by daytime tech exhibitions and the loud crashes of the Robowars arena, the musical lineup offered a dynamic, genre-spanning auditory escape that rivaled commercial music festivals.

Day 1 was a masterclass in escalation. Wish Band opened the festival’s musical chapter, setting a relaxed, engaging tone with their tight instrumentation, vocal harmonies, and undeniable stage presence. But the atmosphere violently shifted gears when DJ Paranox took the decks. Known for his aggressive basslines and high-energy crowd control, Paranox delivered a set that rattled the campus. This auditory assault was accompanied by a jaw-dropping drone show that synced perfectly with the electronic drops, creating a deeply immersive audio-visual rave.

The climax arrived on Day 2 with Bollywood royalty. Benny Dayal brought his signature blend of charisma, powerhouse vocals, and an elite backing band to the main stage. Running through an exhaustive setlist of mega-hits, Dayal proved why he remains one of the most bankable live performers in the country. His ability to control a crowd of thousands—getting them to jump, sing, and dance in perfect unison—was the ultimate capstone to a festival that beautifully balanced analytical daytime pursuits with unbridled artistic expression.
