India’s Largest Inter-Collegiate Sports and Entertainment Extravaganza

 

GOA, 1st – 5th April 2026 — Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, is preparing to welcome thousands of athletes and enthusiasts for the 2026 edition of Spree, the country’s premier inter-college open sports festival. Since its inception in 2004, the institution has fostered the development of some of the most talented students in India, and its flagship fest has evolved into a massive multicultural event, blending competitive athletics with world-class entertainment.

A Hub for National Talent

Spree 2026 is expected to see a massive turnout, continuing its trend of exponential growth as one of India’s fastest-growing fests. Key highlights of the festival’s scale include:

• Massive Footfall: The event anticipates over 8,000 participants from across the country.
• Diverse Representation: Students from 150+ participating colleges will converge in Goa to compete.

Sporting Excellence

The festival will feature 14+ major sporting events, providing a platform for the best collegiate talent in India. The competitive lineup includes:

• Field & Court Sports: Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Volleyball.
• Racket & Indoor Sports: Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash, Chess, and Carrom.
• Strength & Traditional Sports: Powerlifting and Kabaddi.

Beyond traditional competition, Spree continues its commitment to social welfare through Udaan, a community enrichment sports tournament for special and differently-abled students from all across Goa. Additionally, the annual Spree Marathon continues to garner awareness for the cause of responsible driving.

A Legacy of Stars

Spree is renowned for its “Special Nights” and “Sports Conclave,” which have historically featured some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. The festival has previously hosted legendary sporting icons such as Kapil Dev, Abhinav Bindra, Michael Clarke, Simon Taufel, and Yogeshwar Dutt to inspire students through guest lectures.

On the entertainment front, the B-Dome stage and auditorium have seen high-energy performances from a diverse array of talent:

• Musical Acts: Previous editions have featured Nucleya, The Local Train, DJ Marnik, Amit Trivedi, and Vishal-Shekhar.
• Last Year’s Musical Lineup: The 2025 edition set a high bar with performances by Seedhe Maut, Ankit Tiwari, and Aarambh.
• Comedy: Popular comedians like Zakir Khan, Kenny Sebastian, and Abhishek Upmanyu have consistently headlined the festival’s comedy nights.
