Hanuman Jayanti is an important Hindu festival celebrated in reverence to Lord Hanuman. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Chaitra, usually in March or April, and is a major celebration in Hindu temples and households across India.

Hanuman Jayanti marks the birthday of Lord Hanuman, the faithful devotee of Lord Rama and the main protagonist of the Hindu epic Ramayana. On this day, people offer prayers and puja to Lord Hanuman and seek his blessings.

The origin of Hanuman Jayanti is believed to be from the Vedic period, when Lord Hanuman was worshipped as a symbol of strength, power, courage and protection. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated in different ways by different sects across India.

In some parts of India, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated with grand festivities and special prayers to mark the birthday of Lord Hanuman. People visit temples to offer special pujas, pay homage to the deity and seek his blessings for a prosperous and healthy life. Venerations and offerings in the form of sindoor, sweets and coconuts are made to the deity.

In some parts of India, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated with a special ritual called Hanuman Puja. A special puja is performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Hanuman. This puja is performed to commemorate the Supremacy of Lord Rama, his name being uttered throughout the puja. Offerings such as red flowers and vermillion are made to the deity. A special aarti is also performed to seek Lord Hanuman’s blessings.
